Service Description: 
The primary mission of Amarillo Area Mental Health Consumers is to organize, encourage, educate, and train people with mental illness to advocate for themselves and support each other in their recovery.The group's vision is the integration of individuals diagnosed with mental illness into the community as productive, functional, valued citizens. AMHC provides and operates the Agape' Center, a drop-in support center that focuses on recovery, integrates members back into the community, encourages volunteerism and assists members in obtaining employment. One-on-one peer counseling, support groups, mental health educational classes, courses on communication and coping skills, crafts, and computer.
